Salted Almonds
Ingredients
- 250 gms almonds (skins on)
- 15 gms butter
- Maldon sea salt
Method
- Put the almonds in a small bowl and pour some boiling water over them. Leave for a couple of minutes, then rub the skins off and leave to dry.
- Heat some butter in a heavy based pan and, when it’s very hot and the butter is bubbling, add the almonds and fry them quickly, turning frequently, until they are a pale straw colour.
- Lift them out and drain on a piece of kitchen roll.
- Lay on a plate and scatter with some Maldon Sea Salt.
Mum and dad had these at their friends house years ago and now make the regularly when there are no cheese straws in the house.
