Blogs

Having only just launched our website and being new to blogging we [Rachel & Vicki  - the Eternal Ingredients team] thought now was a good time to talk to you about our thoughts for our blog and see what you want and expect to read about on it.

We are keen for you to get to know us through our blog, as we want you to feel not only are you building your book through our website, but that we are somehow a ‘part of’ your book and your journey. It is important for us to share what is going on in the world of Eternal Ingredients and let you know when there are any upgrades, promotions and exciting enhancements to the site that will improve your cookbook building experience

We have categorised our blog into the following areas: General News, Food News, Restaurants and Recipes.

General news is where we will be talking about what is happening with website upgrades and things that we have head about that are news worthy, but not necessarily food related.  We may also talk about the charities we support (Mercy Ships Australia and Project Futures: End Sex Trafficking). If one of our two charities is doing a special fundraiser or has some special news we will be blogging about it to gain exposure for them. We will also let you know why they were chosen to receive our support.

Food news is where we will talk about food specific news, like Masterchef; what do you think of the new Masterchef Professionals? I am a die hard Masterchef lover, but I think I am going to have to walk away from this one. I cannot stand the shouting and repetition of orders from Marco Pierre White! My Kitchen Rules; what do we think of all the new contestants that have been plastered on the TV for the past 6 weeks. I may keep that opinion to myself for now. Jamie Oliver’s 15 minute meals, which always take me more like 35 minutes to cook and my kitchen resembles a bombsite afterwards, I’ll get to that when I do have 15 minutes spare!

Apart from talking about reality TV shows we will also be talking about new cooking trends and gadgets to help you become a ‘masterchef’, along with foods we have found available in the shops that we couldn’t get, or hadn’t seen before. One that comes to mind is Watercress, which seems to be the salad leaf of the moment and, which we are loving. Coming from England, I was always able to get this in the supermarket, but it’s only over the last 12 months I have found it readily available over here. Hmmm maybe that is the ‘Jamie Effect’ as he does use it quite a bit in his latest salad recipes.

Restaurants is one of our favourite topics – of course. Our team love to eat out and are always on the lookout for great new places to try and we want to share our experiences with you. We are also hoping that you will share your good and bad dining experiences with us, so we have other places to look to go to, or avoid as the case may be.

We are planning on sharing a new recipe each week, to give you some inspiration for different things to cook. Over the past few months we have been cooking up a storm, while working through the Eternal Ingredients first ever cookbook. We have been recreating each of the dishes we have on the website to share with you all. Our friends and some of my family, were surprised to see the release of my mum’s cheese straws recipe, which is definitely her trademark dish. I did ponder on whether to share this recipe, but figured I should, because at Eternal Ingredients we are all about sharing. I am hoping mum agrees, as she has only just found out that the world now has her recipe!

Our plan is to release a weekly blog article and a weekly recipe, all of which we will post a link to on Facebook too, so you don’t miss out!

Now that we have shared with you our thoughts for our blog, it would be great if you could share your thoughts with us and let us know if we are covering the types of news YOU want to be reading about.

I am very interested in hearing about local restaurants. Always good to hear an honest review about somewhere I might possibly be able to eat at.
And the sharing recipe is great….. I am constantly looking for inspiration for healthy, quick, delicious things to cook for my family
    Keep up the good work!
